Permit Information
PERMIT IS NOT VALID UNTIL FEES HAVE BEEN PAID
- Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within 180 days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced.
- This permit, approved plan sets, and other required documents for this project shall be printed and kept on site until the completion of the project.
- Call Before You dig, Call 811 3 working days before the project starts for locations of all utility lines.
- Backflow assembly tests must be sent to backflow@arvada.org.
The issuance of this permit, any inspections made, or certificates of occupancy issue shall not be construed to be a permit for, nor an approval of any violation of Building Codes, Engineering Standards and Specifications, or any other code or ordinance adopted by the City of Arvada. Failure to comply with these laws or correct deficient work shall lead to an immediate revocation of the permit. Per sections 69.0 and 78-309 of the Arvada Municipal Code, the permittee shall be responsible for and bear the sole cost of any required relocation of their facilities located in or adjacent to public rights-of-way whether above or below ground. By accepting this permit, the permittee acknowledges this requirement.
Information you submit to the City of Arvada may be subject to the Colorado Open Public Records Act ("CORA"), C.R.S. §24-72-201 et seq. Information you submit via the City's application system will be viewable by the public. As such, do not upload any Personal Identifying Information such as driver's licenses, passports, social security numbers, credit card information, bank account information or dates of birth. The City of Arvada, its officers, employees or agents shall not be liable for damages or losses of any kind arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of information, including but not limited to, damages or losses caused by reliance upon the accuracy or timeliness of any such information, or damages incurred from the viewing, distributing, or copying of those materials.
Sign Compliance Information
The applicant is responsible for familiarizing their self with important provisions of the City's Land Development Code and the City Code which may be relevant to the proposed Sign Permit including but not limited to Section 6.17 of the Land DevelopmentCode ("Signage").
In the case of signs to be located on public property, the applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Arvada (and any other applicable special district or political subdivision of the state) and any of its officers or employees from any and all claims, damages, liability, or court awards, including costs and attorney's fees, arising out of, in connection with, resulting from, or in any way related to, the issuance of the requested sign permit.
- No signs shall be located in the public right-way unless signs that is subject of a revocable agreement with the City.
- All illuminated signs shall be turned off by 10 PM. Signs illuminated in the OT and CI Sign Districts with operating hours that extends past 10 PM, shall turnoff when operating hours end each day.
- For businesses that operate between midnight and 6:00 AM, all signs must be dimmed by at least 30 percent.
- All internally lit signs shall not exceed 600 nits of luminance between sunset and indicated operating hours.
- All external illuminated signs shall not exceed the following illuminance: CI Sign District- 600 lux, OT Sign District – 500 and RM and RS sign Districts: 400 lux
- Digital Electronic Message Centers displayed message shall not change more than one per eight seconds and must have a static message that only change through dissolve or fade transitions that do not exceed one second. Signs shall have automatic dimmer software or solar sensors to control brightness for nighttime viewing and variations in daytime ambient light. The intensity of the light source shall not produce glare.
- All signs shall be maintained in good condition and in compliance with all applicable building, electrical and property maintenance codes.
